Most of us, who plan on starting a new business have a high level of fear in doing so. We stare at a wall of inertia. In today’s recessionary economy,marketing is a boon, because it builds up in a person many outstanding qualities which are required to start a new business.
1) Proper Planning
Only when there is good planning, you can start and sustain a business successfully. In marketing you need an everyday plan in order to move ahead. Specifically:
• Set goals and targets: - The first lesson that you learn in marketing is to set goals of your own and prioritize it. These goals should be reaffirmed every day. Further you should dedicate and commit yourself to the goal, every day. This will make your mind stick to the goals.
• Time management: - Another reason for failure in the mind of people is time or the lack of it. If you manage time properly, you can surely emerge victorious. Marketing trains the people, to utilize the available time in a fruitful manner. If you are well trained in marketing techniques, you will be able to use time productively in any form of business.
•March towards success step by step: - Success is there for your taking. But the condition is that, for acquiring it, you have to mentally prepare yourself to grab each and every opportunity. If this fact is crystallized and stamped in your mind, you will not waste any opportunity that comes to you. Not even those that come in the garb of crisis.

Before entering a new business, complete preparation is important. There are various ways to plan a perfect start in business:
• Building Self-Confidence:- The lack of self confidence will make a person a negative thinker. In marketing, you may have to go through a variety of failures, but the silver line in the cloud is that you get to learn a lot. You must not take the failures personally; rather consider the failures as a learning opportunity.
• Have a commitment: - If you have made a decision to start a business, be ready to make a total commitment to the task in hand. Only when there is a commitment, will there be perfection in work. Marketing teaches you this point in a perfect way. Thus marketing helps build an ideal person with commitment to the business he is about to start.
• Clear vision: - Only when you are with a clear vision, can you go about doing your business smoothly. A clear vision will take you to the position where you want to be. This is one of the most important points a person learns in marketing. So when you enter a new business, do so with a clear vision. Only when your vision is clear will you know where you want to be.
